A juvenile Kemp's Ridley sea turtle was admitted to the clinic after being found trapped in a shrimp net. The patient was emaciated and barely alive due to near drowning. Over the first 24 hours the turtle was kept at a 30 degree angle to allow as much saltwater to drain from its body that it had swallowed. It will be closely monitored for secondary effects of near drowning such as pnuemonia.
